Christy Brewer, CRNA, is a Nurse Anesthetist at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, located in Somerset, KY.
A mom to two amazing kids and a loving wife of 23 years to an incredible husband, Christy spends her free time painting, writing, refinishing furniture, up-cycling furniture, decorating, hiking, and traveling!
For Christy, travel is a great way for her to get out and see the beauty of the world while meeting great people along the way. With a knack for adventure, Christy has traveled to Hawaii, drove from Virginia to Alaska, and tries to get outside in the great outdoors any chance she gets. Career & Education
Christy Brewer has served at hospitals and organizations like Park Ridge Health, Greenville Health Systems, Mat-Su regional Medical Center, and Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and she holds a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Mountain State University.
Honors and Affiliations
Christy is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), and has been recognized by the following organizations throughout her career:
- Kiwanis Citizenship Award (1995 & 1997)
- HCTC Association Nursing Program (2005 & 2006)
- The Kentucky House of Representatives Community Service Award (2005)
- Citation for Heroism from the Governor of West Virginia (2008)
Christy’s work in the medical community and as an Anesthetist led her to write the book, Attitudes on the Use of Music During Anesthesia Administration, which was published in 2010. You can find a copy here!
